Mayor Jean Stothert asked the Omaha City Council to hold off for a while on deciding the next waste collection contract.
Mayor Stothert is recommending the action until HDR's Solid Waste Management Division can provide an independent review of the bid submitted by West Central Sanitation. There were four bidders total for the next long term contract.
The letter sent to the City Council also stated that there are several points of view regarding the level of service that should be provided.That came after a public hearing on the issue last Tuesday.
