A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for southwest Iowa, northern Kansas and south-central and eastern Nebraska until 1 a.m., Thursday.
Large hail 2.5 inches in diameter is likely along with 70 mph wind.The National Weather Service isn't ruling out a tornado or two.
The storms are likely to intensify early this evening across north-central Kansas and then move into northeast Kansas and southeast Nebraska.
The watch area is along and 70 statute miles north and south of a line from 15 miles north of Hill City, Kansas to 20 miles south southeast of Omaha.
