Council Bluffs officials have announced that their annual Loessfest event has been pushed back due to the toll last month's floods took on the Tom Hanafan River's Edge Park.
City officials say Loessfest has traditionally kicked off the summer season with a free, family-friendly festival during Memorial Day weekend at Tom Hanafan Park, but due to the recent flooding, organizers have postponed it until Labor Day weekend. The move was made to ensure that River’s Edge Park is dry and back to its original beauty for the festival.
For 2019, all Loessfest events will take place over Labor Day weekend, August 30th – September 1st.The full Loessfest 2019 lineup announcement will take place in May.
