Google Is Coming To Nebraska

Google announced a $13 billion expansion this year that includes new data centers and offices in several locations, including Nebraska.Google made the announcement on Facebook and in a blog Wednesday that announced new data centers in Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio and Texas.

The announcement states the expansion will allow them to hire tens of thousands of employees and create more than 10,000 new construction jobs in Nebraska, Nevada, Ohio, Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Virginia.Google also plans to double their workforce in Virginia and add more space and expand in New York.

With the addition, Google will have data centers in 13 communities and have a home in 24 states.

Governor Pete Ricketts issued a statement following news from Google that they would make an investment in Nebraska.

“Nebraska has built a reputation for itself as the Silicon Prairie and a hub for tech companies, start ups, and entrepreneurs,” said Governor Ricketts.“Today’s announcement from Google underscores that reputation and will bring great opportunities for Nebraskans.We appreciate the work of all the partners who teamed up to successfully promote Nebraska as the destination for Google’s next investment.”
