Lancaster County authorities say one person was killed and another critically injured after they were struck by a pickup on Highway 77 near West Hallum Road Friday night.
Investigators say the pickup, driven by 74 year old Kenneth Lineweber of Beatrice, was southbound when he struck two people who were helping a third person change a tire on the shoulder of the road.
One of them died at the scene. 61 year old Karen Meyer of Cortland was taken to the hospital where she is listed in critical, but stable condition.
The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office Crash Reconstruction Team will investigate the circumstances of the crash.
