Man Rescued From Missouri River After Plunging From Pedestrian Bridge

A man has been hospitalized after reportedly jumping from the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge into the Missouri River. Water rescue teams were called down to the river just after 9:00 Tuesday morning.

As the water rescue teams responded, 6 News reports that two park service employees who had witnessed the plunge made their way to the water's edge. The pair were reportedly able to get the person to shore.

The person was initially identified only as a man in his 50's. He is expected to recover.
