After an intruder left behind a big mess at Custom Computing, employees got to work cleaning up the destruction on Tuesday.
Employees like Steven White tell 6 News that they got to work to find windows smashed and their offices trashed. "He took and dumped the filing cabinets and pulled the content out of my drawers."
According to police, 18 year old Edward Galindo broke into the Old Mill business and held the cleaning crew captive while he trashed the place.
"Mostly he just went through peoples' desks and took change, candy and softballs and for some reason if it was glass he broke it. And then he took a pile of papers on the floor and then lit them," White said.
Surveillance cameras in the building showed the suspect walking around inside. White said he believes the suspect was inside for around an hour. He never got any information, but he did have a gun. "He kind of went crazy. He fired off at least five shots. He put a bullet into the vending machines to he could get all the money out of it and he shot a hole in the ceiling. Shot a couple of monitors. Shot the television. Just odd stuff."
Nancy Trumble is a 20-year employee at Custom Computing and her cubical was one of the hardest hit. "When I came I was just... literally had my mouth open. But, luckily a couple of gals had already semi picked it up, so it wasn't nearly as bad as it was when I got here."
All of the employees worked together to clean up most of the mess in a hurry.
Galindo is from Kansas City, Kansas and faces a number of charges, including Burglary, 3rd Degree Arson and Terroristic Threats.
