Two teens have been ordered to stand trial in the August hit and run death of a 60 year old man.
On August 18th, Jeffrey Grieves was hit by a vehicle in a parking lot at 10th and Bancroft. Grieves was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men will face charges in the case, 19 year old Orlando Santacruz-Navarro and 18 year old Jesus Dominguez-Navarro. Prosecutors say Santacruz-Navarro was behind the wheel during the crash and is facing charges of Failure to Stop and Render Aid in a Death.
Dominguez-Navarro was a passenger in the vehicle, and faces charges of Tampering with Evidence and Accessory.
Investigators say the two men were in a Chevy Malibu when they pulled into a parking lot at the southeast entrance from Bancroft and began heading west. The car hit Grieves, and the driver briefly stopped, but then left the scene.
Surveillance video from a nearby business captured what happened and police located a white Chevy Malibu about a half block south. The vehicle had hair attached to the bottom.
While officers were inspecting the car, two people came out of a residence saying they had knowledge of what happened. Those people were the suspects and they were arrested.
