A Central Omaha green space will survive as is. A group of volunteers had hoped to create a garden with a walkway at "The Sunks," a grassy area along Happy Hollow Blvd., just north of Underwood Ave.
But, those plans were abandoned at a community meeting last night after some neighbors spoke out in favor of preserving the space.
The plan originally included the removal of some trees for a sledding area as well as the construction of an open air shelter.
