Bellevue Police are mourning the death of one of their employees. 48 year old Carrie Brown was killed after suffering a gunshot wound around 10:00 Sunday night near 189th and L Street.
"Carrie had been a valued member of our team for the last 8 years and will be missed," Bellevue Police said in a Facebook post. Carrie started her career as a Front Desk Clerk and later became an Evidence Technician.
"Carrie’s passion for all she did was infectious and her passing will leave a tremendous void in our department. Please keep Carrie’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time."
The investigation continues into her death. Brown and 52 year old Craig Wiesh, a Bellevue Police officer for 22 years, were in a relationship and both lived in the home where she died. Wiesh was taken into custody after authorities say he became combative with first responders and assaulted an officer who responded to the home.
Wiesh was booked for assault on an officer.
