College of Saint Mary student Ashley Tagart loves to run. But she didn't feel safe running alone after Mollie Tibbetts disappeared on July 18th. Tagart had just gotten home from a run when she learned Mollie was missing.
Two days ago Mollie's body was found and a man was arrested for her murder. Tagart says knowing there's strength in numbers she formed a running club at school and they have put some added safeguards in place. She says they are taking precautions to ensure no one will stop them from running outside. "Please find one person to run with. If that's not possible get one of those apps that show your location, tell someone before and after when your running. Also, change up your route once in a while," Tagart says.
The running group is also selling T-shirts with proceeds going directly to Mollie's family. "It's a black tank top, and we also have blue and pink and we have T-shirts for men," Tagart says. "It says 'Mollie Strong' on the front and it's just to bring awareness that we can all still keep running. We just have to do it safer.
