Preliminary Autopsy Report On Molly Tibbetts Released

A preliminary autopsy report indicates that University of Iowa student Mollie Tibbetts was killed by "multiple sharp force injuries."

The autopsy was conducted Wednesday confirming the body to be hers.   Authorities say further examination might result in additional findings but autopsy reports are confidential under state law, except as they pertain to the cause and manner of death.

Tibbetts' body was found in a cornfield Tuesday and 24 year old Cristhian Rivera has been charged with her murder.

Rivera's bond was set at $5 million, cash-only, during his initial court appearance Wednesday. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on August 31st.  Authorities say he is in the country illegally and had been living and working near Tibbetts' hometown of Brooklyn, Iowa
