Seven People Arrested For Armed Robbery In Lincoln

Lincoln Police say seven people were arrested in connection to an overnight assault and an armed robbery.

Authorities say just before midnight Tuesday night, officers were called to the area of 10th and Cornhusker Highway for a report of a large group of people fighting, where one person displayed a handgun. Officers contacted the victim and a witness and learned a 16 year old had displayed a gun and tried to rob the 22 year old man. The victim knew the teen and there was an altercation between them before the teen took off. The victim suffered a cut above his eye.

Shortly after 12:30, a 26 year old woman reported that she was robbed by approximately six juveniles, one of them with a gun. The victim reported she was in her vehicle near 26th and K Street when a 16 year old man pointed a gun through her window and told her to get out.

The victim and her 29 year old friend began to struggle with the teen when his friends stepped in and assaulted both victims. The juveniles then took both victims’ purses and fled the area.

All seven suspects were stuffed into a 1995 Geo Prism when they were stopped by police near Elmwood and D Street. An officer had spotted the vehicle leaving the area of the second robbery and conducted a high-risk traffic stop since the parties were believed to be armed with a gun. Officers took all seven parties into custody without injury and recovered a handgun.

The 16 year old was arrested for two counts of Use of a Firearm to Commit a Felony, Attempted Robbery and Robbery. He was taken to the Youth Attention Center. Two 17 year old females and one 17 year old man were also booked into the Youth Attention Center for Robbery.

Three other suspects, ages 18 and older, were arrested and taken to the Lancaster county jail. Authorities say 18 year old Jadarica Ellington and 20 year old Najazia Stencel were both arrested on robbery charges. 18 year old Makayla Sutton was arrested for Robbery and Carrying a Concealed Weapon
