The search for a missing Iowa woman lead investigators out of the Hawkeye State, but didn't turn up any new information about her whereabouts.
Authorities looked into a report that 20 year old Mollie Tibbetts may have been seen in the northwest Missouri town of Kearney, about 25 miles northeast of Kansas City. Now, investigators say that the woman seen in Kearney was not Tibbetts.
On Sunday, an employee at a truck stop reported that she saw a young girl resembling Tibbetts. In a statement from the department, investigators say they spoke to witnesses and reviewed video footage but that the woman wasn't the missing University of Iowa student.
Tibbetts was last seen going out for a jog in Brooklyn, Iowa on July 18th.
