Bellevue wants to revitalize the Olde Towne area and city leaders are asking for the public's opinion on what should be done with the once vibrant area.
City administrator Joe Mangiamelli says they will hold a public meeting on Thursday and they want to know the community's ideas on what to do with the area. "We want the public's input. The residents, the businesses. How would they like to see that area redeveloped?"
Mangiamelli say they have basics in place, they just need some new tenants. "We've got commercial (space) down there, so we'd welcome business opportunities. We'd welcome residential, cause we certainly want to maintain and enhance the ownership of the area."
Most of the focus, Mangiamelli says, will be on what to do with three buildings recently vacated on Mission Avenue. "Probably the best idea would be to take those buildings down and start with a clean slate, but that will be reflected in what we get from the community and how that plan shakes out."
Thursday's meeting starts at 6:30 in the Bellevue City Council chambers.
