An explosion at a grain elevator in South Sioux City injured at least two people and possibly more. A huge plume of smoke could be seen as fire and rescue crews from several communities rushed to the elevator site. At least one person was taken to a hospital but the injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Authorities evacuated nearby neighborhoods.
The explosion happened around 1 p.m.
What caused the explosion remains under investigation. The extent of damage is not yet known.
