A man crossing the street near 24th and Leavenworth was critically injured after being struck by an SUV at 24th and Leavenworth around 2:30 Friday afternoon.
Sergeant Chuck Casey says the woman behind the wheel was test driving the vehicle when it struck a pole and then the man. He says the woman driver ran from the scene and made it several blocks. Casey says a witness to the crash brought her back to the scene, but took off before Police could speak to him.
Police are looking for another white SUV, possibly a Durango, whose driver could be that critical witness. Police are asking he or she to call headquarters.
