A 22 year old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a 16 month old Council Bluffs girl.
Police and fire and rescue personnel were called to an apartment in the 800 block of 2nd Avenue for an unresponsive child last Thursday. The 16-month-old girl was pronounced dead inside the home.
Police said Javon Jennings was the sole care taker of the girl, during a period of time in which the child’s left leg was broken in the hours prior to her death.
The cause of the girl’s death remains under investigation. Detectives are waiting for final autopsy results. Jennings was arrested Wednesday on one count of Child Endangerment Causing Serious Injury, which is a class C felony.
He was booked into the Pottawattamie County Jail where he is being held on a $250,000.00 bond.
