Dick's Sporting Goods To Stop Selling Semi-Automatic Weapons

The nation's largest sporting goods store will stop selling semi-automatic weapons similar to the one used in the south Florida school shooting.

On Wednesday, Dick's Sporting Goods announced they will no longer sell high-capacity magazines and other accessories used with weapons similar to the AR-15. The company also said they will not sell any firearm to anyone under the age of 21.

Dick's CEO Edward Stack says the decision is a direct response to the shooting in Parkland, Florida. Nikolas Cruz, the accused shooter at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, bought a gun from Dick's, but not the AR-15 he used in that shooting.

In response to the Sandy Hook shooting in 2012, Dick's stopped selling semi-automatic weapons in its Dick's-branded stores, but still had the firearms available at their 35 Field and Stream stores. The semi-automatic weapons will now no longer be sold at any Dick's store.
