Trump Tells Sanders "Not to Bother" with These Anymore

Trump Says Told Huckabee Sanders 'Not to Bother' Holding Daily Press Briefing Anymore

Traditional daily press briefings have become rare in the Trump White House, with the last one on December 18th, after being held infrequently in the months before that. And now President Trump is saying it's because he told Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, quote, "not to bother" with them.

Trump tweeted yesterday that the press, including certain members in particular, covers Sanders, quote," so rudely & inaccurately." He continued, "I told her not to bother, the word gets out anyway! Most will never cover us fairly & hence, the term, Fake News!" Sanders has said it makes more sense for the public to hear from the president himself.

The White House Correspondents Association said the decision sets a terrible precedent, moving the administration away from transparency and accountability. WCHA president Olivier Knox said, "Being able to question the press secretary or other senior government officials publicly helps the news media tell Americans what their most powerful representatives are doing in their name."

Here's how these conferences usually go...
