Men Now Manscaping the Pits

More Than 40 Percent of Young British Men Shave Their Underarms

A growing number of young men are joining women in shaving their underarms, with a new poll finding that just over 40 percent of British men aged 16 to 24 now shave their armpits, three times what it was just two years ago in 2016.

Among this age group, 16 percent also get rid of chest hair, 12 percent remove back hair, and 42 percent pluck stray hairs from their eyebrows.

Looking at British men overall in the poll by Mintel, 46 percent said they prefer a hairless body, up from 36 percent two years ago. However, that doesn't apply to faces, with 71 percent having either stubble, a closely-trimmed beard or a full beard.
