Trump Threatens Illegal Caravan Countries

Trump Threatens to Cut Off Aid to Honduras, Guatemala, El Salvador Over Immigrant Caravan

President Trump threatened in a tweet last night to cut off aid to Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador if they allow a caravan of some 2,000 migrants that is heading north towards the U.S. border to pass through their countries. Trump tweeted: "We have today informed Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador that if they allow their citizens, or others, to journey through their borders and up to the United States, with the intention of entering our country illegally, all payments made to them will STOP (END)!"

Earlier in the day, Trump had tweeted a threat to cut off U.S. aid only to Honduras, where the caravan began. The group has grown as it has moved north, with people joining along the way, viewing it as strength-in-numbers protection from the criminal gangs who prey on those trying to get to the U.S.

Trump also added in a following tweet: "Anybody entering the United States illegally will be arrested and detained, prior to being sent back to their country!"
