Sabertooth Cat Skull Found in Southwest Iowa

(Ames, IA) -- The skull of a sabertooth cat has been found in southwest Iowa.

That means for the first time researchers now know the animal once lived in the state.

Researchers say the well-preserved sabertooth skull was found in Page County, and lived about 12 to 13 thousand years ago.
