"Drive Sober Or Get Pulled Over" Campaign Starts Friday

LINCOLN, Nebraska - Nebraska State Patrol troopers will be putting in extra time over the holidays making sure the roads are safe. The NSP is joining other law enforcement agencies across the country in the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign that focuses on impaired driving enforcement.

The campaign is officially underway and will continue through January 1st.

“The holiday season is often filled with gatherings and celebrations,” said Colonel John Bolduc, Superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol. “If those gatherings include alcohol, it is imperative for people to be responsible. If you’re planning to drink, plan ahead to have a sober driver take you home.”

During last year's similar enforcement, troopers arrested 64 motorists for impaired driving. Throughout 2018 in Nebraska, nearly one-third of all fatality crashes involved alcohol.

This special effort is made possible due to a $28,000 grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation - Highway Safety Office.
