Omaha Man's Ear Severed After Being Hit By Trailer

An Omaha man was critically injured after police say he was run over by the semi he was sleeping under Friday morning.

It happened near 15th and Nicholas around 6:15 a.m. Police say there are several empty grain trailers stored on the empty lot at the northeast corner of the intersection.

They say a 2016 Freightliner semi hooked up to one of the empty trailers to take it and have it loaded with grain. When the trailer pulled away from where it was parked, it struck the intoxicated man who had been asleep underneath it.

41 year old Edward Prange was transported to Nebraska Medicine with non-life threatening injuries. Police say he suffered a severed ear.
