Second Threat Leads To Canceled Classes In Plattsmouth

Due to information that was received Tuesday evening regarding a second threat against the Plattsmouth Community School District,  classes have been canceled in all buildings for Wednesday.

District officials say it will allow law enforcement adequate time to investigate the threat. No specific details have been given about the second threat.  Earlier on Tuesday evening the district and the Cass County Sheriff's Department said two teenagers are being questioned by detectives after officials received creditable information the students were planning an attack on Plattsmouth High School.

Officials have revealed that two the 15 and 16 year old boys were developing “terroristic plans" but had not yet acted.

The teens, along with their parents, have been interviewed regarding the threats. Detectives searched personal property but officials said no additional evidence was obtained.

The two students are in the custody of their parents and have been banned from school grounds. Officials say there is no threat to students, staff or facilities at this time.

School officials, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the Cass County Attorney’s Office have been working together on the case. Investigators are still interviewing students who have direct knowledge of the allegations.
