In a news release from the Iowa Pork Producers:
The Iowa Pork Producers Association will host the 2018 Iowa Pork Congress on Jan. 24 and 25 at the Iowa Events Center and Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in Des Moines.
With nearly 5,000 producers, exhibitors, speakers, students and more attending, there's no shortage of possible stories to tell and I invite you to register for the show.
The trade show will once again utilize the entire Hy-Vee Hall exhibit space to accommodate an ever-increasing number of companies and organizations. Nearly 20 companies are introducing new offerings to the marketplace during the show. IPPA, its partners and other exhibitors will be located off the main show floor in Hall "A."
IPPA is committed to offering seminars on the timely subjects and issues of greatest importance to pig farmers and a strong lineup of sessions are planned. The swine industry's leading experts will present sessions on regulations, manure and cover crops, prices and profitability and foreign animal disease, as well as several others. We believe these offerings will captivate and educate.
Matt Rush is the keynote speaker. The former New Mexico Farm Bureau CEO and award-winning speaker and author will present "There's a snake in my bumper" as and explain why it's important for farmers to tell the agriculture story and why farmers must be viable, valuable and visible to remain successful. You can catch his keynote at 2:15 p.m. on Jan. 24.
In addition to Pork Congress, several other newsworthy events are being held during the week and I invite you to take advantage of these opportunities as well.
Of course, IPPA offers more than just Pork Congress. The Taste of Elegance reception will be held on Jan. 22. The IPPA Annual Meeting and Pork Congress Kickoff Reception and Auction will take place Jan. 23. The annual awards banquet will be held on Jan. 24 and the Youth Swine Judging contest will be held on Jan. 25 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
