(Lincoln, NE) -- 20% of businesses in Lincoln failed recent alcohol and tobacco compliance checks. The Lincoln Police Department conducted 209 compliance checks between mid-July and mid-September. They issued 42 citations. Only two of them were for selling alcohol to a minor. 40 were for selling tobacco or electronic nicotine to a minor.
A grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Division allowed LPD to assign undercover officers to work overtime.
