Nebraska Paleontologists Will Explore Fossil Heritage of Nebraska

Next month, one of the state's most renowned paleontologists will explore the fossil heritage of Nebraska. Some of the fossils in the state are over 300 million years old. Nebraska is renowned for its fossil discoveries and is home to significant sites such as the Niobrara National Scenic River, Ashfall State Historic Site and Agate Fossil Bed National Monument.

On August 1st, Shane Tucker will lead programming for the public at the Niobrara National Scenic River in Valentine. People are encouraged to bring fossils they would like identified. Tucker will provide expert identifications after his presentations, allowing attendees to gain insights into their finds.
