Victim in Omaha's latest homicide is 15 year old girl

(Omaha, NE) -- The victim of Omaha's most recent homicide is identified a a 15 year old girl.

Omaha Police say 15-year-old Synthia Elliott was shot and killed at a home near 37th and Pinkney Wednesday night. Police say patrol officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert of numerous gunshots in that area just before 8:45 Wednesday night. Investigators say once on the scene, officers found shell casings and noticed gunfire damage to a house. OPD says once inside the home, officers located Elliott dead.

The investigation is still ongoing.
