Snow in the Forecast Today, Tonight

The National Weather Service

OMAHA, Nebraska -- A bit of snowfall could dust over Omaha today and tonight.

The National Weather service says the highest amounts could fall tonight near the South Dakota border with 2-5" possible.

They say snow north of Interstate 80 today should melt with daytime highs reaching the lower 40s.

If it seems unusual that it was just nearly 90 degrees and now we're seeing snow, the National Weather Service says it's not.

They say Omaha and Lincoln have both had springs with nearly 90-degree highs and trace amounts to two inches of snowfall a few weeks later.

Hard freezes are also expected this week with cooler temperatures each morning.

A freeze watch is issued Wednesday morning for Lincoln, Omaha, and some of Western Iowa.
