Omaha Police officially name victims in Tuesday morning home explosion

The Omaha Police Department is officially identifying the victims killed and injured in a Tuesday morning house explosion in South Omaha.

Omaha Police say 73 year old Theresa Toledo, the home owner, and her daughter 45 year old Angela Miller were killed in the blast near 51st and M streets.

Two men, 28 year old Alexander Toledo and 72 year old Larry Rodriguez, both suffered critical injuries and were taken to Nebraska Medicine for treatment. Alex Toledo was transferred to a hospital in Kansas City for further treatment. Rodriguez remains in extremely critical condition at Nebraska Med.

A dog was also killed in the blast. Another dog received oxygen from the Omaha Fire Department at the scene and is said to be doing well.

Theresa Toledo's home was a complete loss. Two neighboring homes also suffered heavy damage. OFD and the Omaha Police Department are still investigating the cause of the explosion, an investigation that is expected to be lengthy.
