Two killed in Thursday crash after car goes airborne, hits overhead sign

Two people are dead following a Thursday crash on westbound I-80.

Omaha Police say just before 11:15 Thursday morning, officers were called to I-80 at I Street for a single-vehicle crash. Investigators say an Infiniti Q50 sedan was westbound on I-80, near H Street, when it struck a jersey barrier, went into a slide and left the roadway. Police say the Infiniti then went airborne and struck an overhead sign located on the I-L-Q off-ramp.

The driver of the Infiniti is identified as 42 year old Antonio Tate, of Omaha. The passenger is identified as 53 year old Leland Reams, also of Omaha. Omaha Fire Department medics declared both men dead at the scene.
