Cleanup is underway after a vehicle slammed into a Benson restaurant and came to a rest in their dining room.

The owners of Hartland Bar-B-Que are picking up the pieces after a car slammed into the front of their restaurant near 54th Street and Northwest Radial Highway Sunday morning.

Omaha Police were called to the restaurant around 4:10 Sunday morning with police saying the call initially came in as a burglary.

Investigators say when officers arrived, they saw that a black sedan had crashed through the storefront, setting off the security alarm during the impact. Police say the vehicle was abandoned and none of the four occupants have been located yet, but surveillance footage has been obtained by investigators.

The owners of the restaurant tell 6 News that they just had to make repairs to their door after a robbery a month ago. They say they are hurt because whoever did this did not stick around and now they have to close for at least a day to try and make repairs.
