Big warm up then below average temps in Midwest MAPS

DES MOINES, Iowa - A big warm up is expected across the Midwest early this week before cooling back down to below average temperatures.

We'll see the high 60s even the high 70s Tuesday before another cold spell.

Cedar Rapids and Iowa City: 75
Des Moines and Ames: 78
Omaha and Council Bluffs: 78
Quad Cities: 75

Monday will see scattered thunderstorms and temperatures in the high 60s, while Tuesday those numbers will rise into the high 70s.

Below average temperatures are expected later this week and into the middle of April, starting as early as Thursday. We could even see below-freezing conditions in the mornings.
