Omaha Man Charged With Murder, Police Still Looking For Victim's Body

An Omaha man has been arrested for killing a Council Bluffs man a year ago, even though his body hasn't been found.

Dalton Dukes is facing first degree murder and weapons charges. Omaha Police say on February 21 they were contacted by the Council Bluffs Police Department regarding a missing man.

38 year old Joseph Hellman was last seen in Omaha in late January of 2019. During the investigation, it was determined that the circumstances surrounding Hellman’s disappearance were suspicious and foul play was involved.

Investigators say Hellman was murdered on January 29, 2019 and his body has not been located.

The investigation of Mr. Hellman's death is ongoing and no further details are being released at this time.
