A Lincoln Man Didn't Go Quietly And Charged With Assaulting Officers

LINCOLN, Nebraska - Charges added up quickly for a man in Lincoln just before midnight on Monday, February 10th.

Police were called to an apartment near 16th and D after receiving a call about a disturbance in a hallway where threats were made. Police arrived to see two people shouting at each other. A 40 year old man reported there was a group drinking and smoking in the hallway outside his apartment and he asked them to leave. A man pulled out a metal pipe and refused.

Police say 22 year old Jamel Hudson didn't cooperate with officers when asked to show his hands. While arresting him for disturbing the peace, officers found the metal rod. Hudson then started kicking and squirming and started spitting on officers. One was kicked in the stomach. That action continued on the way to jail.

During booking, police say Hudson head rammed an officer in the face.

Hudson was booked for 3rd degree assault on an officer and for disturbing the peace.
