Creighton University Students Again Offering Free Tax Assistance

OMAHA, Nebraska - Students at Creighton University are taking part in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Students in accounting department will provide free tax preparation service to help lower income families in the greater Omaha area on Saturdays in February and March.

Eligibility for the free tax service apples to those who make $54,000 or less a year, those with disabilities and for individuals who speak limited English.

Participants must bring government issued identification, social security cards for you and your family, all wage and earning statements, 2018 federal and state tax returns, if available and a bank routing number for direct depots of refunds.

The first service will be provided on Saturday, February 15th at Creighton University School of Law, room 124. Students are available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Other dates include February 22, 29, March 21 and 28. On those dates students will be at the Mike and Josie Harper Center.

Creighton University has been part in the VITA program for more than 40 years.
