State Patrol Locates Missing Michigan Children Near York

YORK, Nebraska - Two children reported missing and potentially in danger in Michigan were found by Nebraska State Troopers on I-80 near York.

State troopers received information on the missing children from the Battle Creek Police Department in Michigan. At approximately 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, troopers were able to locate the 7 and 8 year old girls at a gas station. They were with their parents.

The children, who were the subject of an Endangered Missing Alert issued in Colorado last week

Their mother, Rebecca Dunkelberger, 37, of Battle Creek, Michigan, was arrested for outstanding warrants. Their father, Dennis Dunkelberger, was released.

The children were placed with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services and will be returned to authorities in Michigan.
