Possible Quarantine Of Coronavirus At Camp Ashland

ASHLAND, Nebraska - An estimated 70 people are on their way to Camp Ashland from China and will be quarantined for possible coronavirus. 6 News reports that was confirmed by Ashland Fire Chief Mike Meyer. He says these people may have visited Wuhan, China or have been exposed to the virus but have tested negative. Meyer says this is a precautionary measure to prevent the spread and eliminate the new virus within the United States.

Emergency Management informed officials in Ashland of the arrivals Monday night.

Medical staff and an ambulance will be on site around the clock if care is needed.

Camp Ashland and UNMC has not yet confirmed the arrival of quarantined individuals. Meyer won't pinpoint their arrival time but says it will be in the near future.
