OPD Gang Unit Makes Two Arrests On Gun And Drug Offenses

OMAHA, Nebraska -Two arrests were made as Omaha Police continue efforts to combat drug, gang and gun violence.

Police in the Northeast Precinct received two court ordered search warrants that were part of an ongoing investigation involving the Gang Unit and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives targeting violent offenders.

34 year old Kevin Johnson was booked for possession with intent to deliver drugs (crack) possession of a stolen firearm and for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

28 year old Jordan Cotton was booked for possession with intent to deliver drugs (crack) with a gun and a felon in possession of a firearm.

Police also took 7 ounces of crack cocaine, one-half ounce of powder cocaine and two handguns off the streets. Police say both of the suspects are known gang members.

The investigation is ongoing and more evidence is being gathered. Police add the arrests will have a significant impact on crime.
