Salvation Army Long Term Flood Recovery Moving To Kroc Center

After being open for nearly four months at the Southroads in Bellevue, The Salvation Army Western Division’s Sarpy-Cass Disaster Resource Center is set to relocate its operations to the Kroc Center in Omaha as the calendar flips over to August.

The Sarpy-Cass DRC opened at the Southroads in early April in the wake of the Flood of 2019. Since then, it has served hundreds of flood survivors and their family members as a one-stop shop for immediate household needs such as flood-relief supplies and grocery-store items.

Now, with area flood-response efforts well into the long-term recovery stage, the Southroads-based endeavor will wind down its operations as of 3 p.m. Saturday, July 27. After that, The Salvation Army will transition its efforts to provide long-term recovery assistance—such as housing and case work—to the Kroc Center (2825 Y St. in Omaha). This specific assistance will be available at the Kroc Center starting Thursday, August 1 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.; it will then continue on Thursdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. until further notice.

People needing such assistance can either show up at the Kroc Center during those dates and times, or call 402-898-6090 for more information.
