Omaha Woman Reaches Plea Deal In Deadly Kansas Crash

An Omaha woman accused of causing a Kansas traffic accident that took the lives of three people has reached a deal with prosecutors.

Maria Perez-Marquez entered a no contest plea to three misdemeanor counts of vehicular homicide and a felony count of aggravated battery in the November 2017 deaths of Carmen, Marlee and Stephen Ukele.

Investigators say Perez-Marquez was attempting to pass another vehicle on US-75 north of Holton when she swerved into the shoulder and crashed into an oncoming minivan.

The Ukele's were on their way home from seeing their sons play in the state championship football game. Sentencing is set for June 14th.
