The pre-4th of July Celebrates America concert held at Omaha's Memorial Park is postponed this year.This is due to potential sponsors being committed to flood relief efforts in Nebraska and Iowa.
Event organizers will work toward resuming the concert in 2020.
This is not the first time the show hasn't gone on.In 2008 the concert featuring 38 Special and Kool & the Gang was a rain out. The concert was to feature the Doobie Brothers and 3 Dog Night in 2004 but rain also canceled that show.The two groups made a return to Omaha and performed in 2005.There was also a gap in shows between 1988 and 1993.
