Washington County Looking For Volunteers To Assist Flood Victims

Washington County is looking for volunteers to help those impacted by the flooding.Their Long-Term Recovery Team was formed in 2013 to help with those impacted by the 2011 flood.Their goal is to help assess the extent of damage to non-business personal property caused by disasters and to facilitate and coordinate recovery services.That includes providing resources to help meet the needs of those impacted.

The team's board of directors voted on March 22nd to proceed with providing aid and assistance that includes help with accessing damages, help in the delivery of recovery services from the recent flooding and to provide resources to help meet the needs of individuals.

WCLTRT is now looking for volunteers to help with those services.Those interested can register by clicking here.

Those with structural damage caused by flooding should coordinate with their local jurisdiction regarding damage assessment and permitting requirements.File with FEMA by phone at 1-800-621-3362 or online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov. Flood victims can also register cleanup needs with the Crisis Cleanup Hotline at 833-556-2476 or call the Washington County Long-Term Recovery Team Hotline at 402-426-8881.
