State Troopers Snag 400 Pounds Of Pot In Two Traffic Stops

Nebraska State troopers made two big drug busts and took nearly 400 pounds of marijuana off the street in two traffic stops.

At 11:45 a.m. Monday, a trooper saw an eastbound Nissan Rogue driving on the shoulder of I-80 near Lincoln.A State Patrol drug dog detected the presence of a substance from inside the vehicle.The dog sniffed out 180 pounds of marijuana.The driver, 50 year old Richard Huckaba of Ruston, Louisiana was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and no drug tax stamp.

At 2 p.m., another trooper stopped a Chevrolet Silverado that failed to signal exiting I-80 near Utica. Another State Patrol police dog sniffed out a substance from inside the vehicle.Troopers conducted a search and found 219 pounds of marijuana in the covered bed of the pickup.The driver, 60 year old Rebecca Jayne of Selma, Oregon was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and no drug tax stamp.She was booked in Seward County.
