A Nebraska man has made it onto American Idol, wowing the celebrity judges with his sound and story.
Nick Townsend has been living in Los Angeles in the hopes of launching his singing career, but the 26 year old is originally from Tekamah. During Sunday night's season premiere, Townsend shared the heart-wrenching story that has shaped him and gotten him to this point. Once in front of judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, Townsend told the panel about the deaths of his two brothers, Zack and Matt. Both brothers tragically took their own lives in 2018 after struggles with depression, something Townsend says left him with immense grief and regret.
