Papillion La Vista Schools Warn Of Suspicious Man

Papillion La Vista Community Schools sent an email to parents Friday following reports of a man following students home.  The first incident was reported on January 8th in the Rising View area of 36th and Capehart.  There have been several additional reports of a man with red hair and a beard driving a blue four-door vehicle.

This is the message sent to parents:

We wanted to share information with you that came to the attention of Papillion La Vista Community Schools earlier today. We were told that a suspicious person was reported for approaching students and wanting into their home. The concerns have been reported in the Rising View area which is near 36th and Capehart Road. A portion of Rising View borders PLCS elementary school, Golden Hills.

The original situation was first reported to Offutt’s 55th Security Force on Tuesday night, January 8th. It was reported that a white male with red hair and beard approached a home and said he had mail. The student denied entry and the man left. The suspicious man was driving a blue 4 door sedan. We have been told that there have been additional reports since that time, but specific information has not been shared.

Please know that student safety is a top priority for Papillion La Vista Community Schools. We do not have a lot of details, but as a precautionary measure we wanted parents to be aware. We encourage you to speak with your child about safety, being aware of their surroundings and what to do if approached. Please feel free to call your child’s school if you have any questions.
