A Council Bluffs man is in custody after allegedly assaulting two police officers early Friday morning.
Council Bluffs Police say just before 3:00, officers were called to the area of 6th and Mill Street for a report of a suspicious male. The man, 31 year old Michael Wickman, gave the responding officers a false name, threw punches at the officers and ran from them before they were able to gain control of Wickman and place him in handcuffs.
Wickman was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries and will be facing a number of charges when he is released from the hospital. Wickman will be charged with two counts of Assault on Police Officers, False Information, Interference with Official Acts and Eluding.
The officers involved also sustained minor injuries during the incident.
