Maybe the most famous role of his career, Burt Reynolds became synonymous with the character The Bandit.  Reynolds called co-star Sally Field “the love of his life”

3.    – THE LONGEST YARD (1974) Streaming on...Hulu

One of the better football movies ever made.  Reynolds played Paul Crewe, an inmate leading a prison football team against the guards who worked there.  He appeared in a cameo role in Adam Sandler’s mishandled 2005 remake.

4.    – ARCHER: THE MAN FROM JUPITER (2012) Streaming on...Hulu

Burt Reynolds played himself often.  Including in the adult animated sitcom, Archer, about a spy who drinks a lot, and idolizes Burt Reynolds.  One episode features Reynolds dating Archer’s mother with hilarious results.

5.    – GATOR (1976) Streaming on...Amazon Prime Video & Hulu

Burt Reynolds made a lot of movies.  Not all of them were good.  Burt Reynolds himself would tell you that.  One of the better bad movies in the Burt Reynolds filmography is Gator.  The sequel to White Lightning starred Reynolds as con man, Gator McKlusky, who is forced to take down a corrupt politician.
